To date, the CAMTC has conducted over 11,000 objections and disciplinary actions to protect the public and improve the profession. You cannot operate a massage facility without first obtaining a license from the DOH. The owner of a massage business may not: (a) permit a worker to perform massage without a licence; (b) present the licence to another person as property; (c) allow any person who does not hold a permit to use his licence; (d) provide the Ministry of Health with false or falsified evidence of the obtaining of a licence; and (e) impersonate another licensee. If you perform any of the prohibited acts, the DOH will refuse your licence or impose other sanctions on a licence applicant. The DOH will revoke or suspend the massage facility`s license if a jurisdiction has issued a final order or other disciplinary action for sexual misconduct related to prostitution, crimes related to the practice of massage therapy with prostitution, or a conviction or plea, or Nolo Contendere for a misdemeanor or crime related to prostitution. In this case, the owner of the facility cannot apply for a new permit and cannot transfer the permit.
