The Law and Justice program includes an innovative program and research-based technical and professional development support. It consists of two courses: Foundations in Law and Foundations in Criminal Justice. It is intended for high schools and can be adapted to after-school programs, community colleges, youth centres and community institutions. DVLJA is a Californian partnership academy that offers one: HSLJ ambassadors take you on a virtual tour of our campus. The Law and Justice program is available free of charge. It is funded by the James Irvine Foundation as part of their linked learning initiative. Professional development services are provided by Education Development Center, Inc. A diverse group of two dozen law and justice professionals, ranging from city attorneys and attorneys to federal special agents and marketing directors from a local law firm, were present at CALJ`s Law Day event on Friday, April 27, 2018. There were 20 guest speakers and 22 mentors for mentoring sessions for approximately 500 students in 15 rooms. CALJ Juniors also had the opportunity to share their biographies, goals and aspirations with the guest speakers.
