Our vision is to ensure that vulnerable and disadvantaged people in central Queensland have access to free legal advice. The Central Queensland Community Legal Centre serves Biloela, Emerald, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon and is there for the regional, rural and remote communities of central Queensland. The Central Queensland Community Legal Centre is an independent, non-profit organisation funded by state and federal grants, public donations and dues. CQLC provides access to legal services to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in regional, rural and remote communities. The service provides general legal advice, referrals and certain cases on a full-time basis. It serves communities stretching from south mackay to Bundaberg and west to the Queensland border. The Centre also conducts community legal education activities. The Centre is managed by a Steering Committee elected annually by its members. The members of the committee are volunteers from the legal sector, community organizations and academia. CQ Community Legal Centre Inc provides free legal advice to residents of central Queensland. The legal and administrative activities of the centre are accredited by the National Association of Community Legal Centres. In collaboration with CQUniversity, the centre has set up a teaching centre in its Rockhampton office. The Robert Fisher Pro Bono Law Clinic offers LAWS students access to a learning center and the opportunity to participate in real-time learning by observing client interviews.
