Legal Department Voicemail

Do not fall into the trap of this scam. A viewer returned a voicemail purporting to be from the Attorney General`s Office and was scammed of $2,000. Physicians who operate their own practices are responsible for hosting voicemails throughout the organization. In this case, simply state the facts: when your practice is open, how patients can register for appointments, who is on call, and other relevant information that affects how callers interact with your practice. Twice in the past week, I received a missed call and a 30-second voicemail from a recording of a woman`s voice from two different numbers, both from the Washington DC area code. The recording was truncated as if the beginning and end of the entire message had been cut off, leaving only a 30-second snippet from the middle of the message. A viewer received this voicemail and returned the call, only to be scammed of $2,000. The woman thought the call was legitimate and paid the scammers by taking the $2,000 gift card numbers she had purchased. Recently, one of our customers received the following voicemail from a scammer posing as a process server. This was particularly worrisome for her because she had recently been sued by a debt buyer (who quickly resigned when we were involved). However, a few months after the court was released, this scammer called our client and her family about the same alleged debts. Our client knew that he should not accept the word of a scammer for a debt and called us instead of calling him back.

The voicemail welcome script from a dental office is very similar to the voicemail from a doctor`s office. It should cover the basics: when the office is open, how to make an appointment, and what emergency services are available. Here are some voicemail welcome scripts that are perfect for medical, legal, and dental practices. The tone of the message is professional but caring. The caller`s well-being is treated immediately – critical patients are asked to call 911 before further information is revealed. The rest of the message gradually reveals who, what and when of the firm`s day-to-day operations, allowing callers to decide if they want to try again during business hours instead of leaving a voicemail. Whether you`re a doctor giving a voice greeting for an entire office or a single doctor`s office, the message should put the caller`s well-being above everything else. That`s why the emergency part comes first, followed by information on where and how callers can be taken care of when the doctor is away.

Anticipate your patients` needs before they leave a message. This not only keeps your patients healthier, but also saves your voicemail unnecessary clutter. A Michigan consumer sent us this voice message he recently received: «From the seat, which will expire in the next 24 business hours. And once it expires, you will be taken into custody by the local police, because at that time, four serious charges are laid against your name. We ask that you contact us so that we can discuss this matter before taking legal action against you. A voicemail greeting from a law firm should provide basic logistical information about your firm, including office hours, and a general overview of the litigation in which your firm is involved. Note that this voicemail is primarily intended for the general public. Clients who already work with one of your lawyers are likely to call your team directly instead of using your main line. Unfortunately, if they are just night scammers, even if they have violated the FDCPA, due to the extreme difficulty of finding such scammers (many are probably offshore or overseas), there is little Paramount law or any other consumer protection attorney can do for you. Reporting them to your local police department, FTC, CFPB, and OK AG office is your best option. Please file a complaint against the collection agency with the CFPB here. I recommend you file both complaints to try to eliminate the scammers! For more general best practices, see our tips and examples for business voicemail greetings. As far as I know, I haven`t done anything illegal lately. Is this a scam or is it a legitimate way to be contacted for an illegal activity I am accused of? Does it have anything to do with taxes and the IRS? Do I need to call back? This voicemail is interesting because the technology this scammer uses to make these calls makes them almost human. Note, however, that the numbers are always said with the same inflection. Listen carefully to the inflection when this robot specifies repeating numbers that also use an area code. All this message is computer generated! The voicemail continues: «If we do not hear from you, an arrest warrant will be issued on your behalf.» Regardless of the scare tactic used, don`t fall into the scam trap where scammers pretend to be with the IRS, local police department, court system, bank, or even the Social Security Administration. A voicemail welcome script for a single lawyer should be short and encourage face-to-face meetings via phone beacons.

This allows you to interact directly with your client, and if you`re a criminal defense attorney, it could prevent your client from saying incriminating things over the phone. Often, these scammers illegally access your credit reports or use public folders to give them more information about you in an attempt to get you paid and harass your loved ones.
